Picapedra Blanc

Knackig-fresh Spanish white wine by Vins de Pedra from the Conca de Barberà region in Catalonia, approx. 150 km west of Barcelona.
The Picapedra Blanc is fresh and aromatic, with scents of tropical fruits and white flowers, paired with the aroma of freshly mowed hay. On the palate he has the crunchy freshness of lemons and green apples. It offers a round, creamy mouthfeel with a underlying force that makes him a worthy companion at the table.
Enjoy the Picapedra Blanca at 5 ° -6 ° C as aperitif, to raw oysters or sushi. At 7 ° -8 ° C, it fits perfectly at the table with mussels in the white wine, too warm octopus salad or too poached fish in light sauce.
Picapedra is a new project by Marta Pedra that focuses on the most important grape varieties in the Conca de Barbarà region. The goal is to highlight the natural characteristics of these varieties in fresh, accessible wines with minimal intervention . Every wine in every year is devoted to a person who pursues demanding goals with great commitment and whose image is shown on the label.
The parellada -Reben for the Picapedra grow in the "Mas d'Orpinell", a small vineyard (1,2 ha) near the banks of the L'Anguera river. The bottom of the slightly inclined area is primarily from calcareous sound , which was washed up by the river in millions of years. The approx. 1500 vines were planted in 1974 by Marta's parents and grow as bushes (gobelet education), the processing and harvest are carried out by hand . There was a lot of rain in 2020, the harvest was plentiful with around 5000 kg and about half was used for the Picapedra. The harvest took place late at the end of October, after the grapes had achieved full mature .

The must macerated 2 days at 5 ° C, then pressed slightly and the must be fermented at 15 ° C in the stainless steel tank for 15 days. The young wine was clarified by the worst sediments by gravity and several abts, it was not filtered . After 4 months of stabilization in the tank, it was bottled in April 2020 and brought onto the market.
