Spanish red wine from do penedès in Catalonia, approx. 55 km west of Barcelona.
This unique red wine is not a power man from the oak barrel, but a filigree dancer with grace and grace. In color a brilliant light ruby red, with strong aromas of strawberries and sour cherries with lively spice notes. It is very fresh on the palate, with medium body and a complex game of tannins and acidity. The finish is clear and straightforward. The Gaintus Radical is a wine that looks somewhat brisk in the youth, but it becomes ripe and profound over time.
Serve your gaintus radical to gazpacho, to duck breast with cranberry sauce, too grilled red barbs or sardines, cannelloni or fresh strawberries. It is very lightly chilled to enjoy and thanks to its light alcohol content you can calm down a second glass.
SUMOLL Vine, which was first mentioned in writing in 1797, was once widespread in Catalonia, although it has a reputation to be difficult. Although it is reliably productive and drought -resistant, it is also early and therefore succeeded in frost. In the basement, too, Sumoll requires care and great skills, which has caused the fact that Spain came to the EU, winemakers were rewarded to tear out grape varieties such as Sumoll and to plant "international" competitive varieties.
The Autochthone Sumoll grape is closely linked to the history of the Montubi winery. This has only been waiting for wine makers with courage and skills to show what to do with it.
The first Sumoll wine from Montrubi, Gaintus Vertical, introduced in 2001, was a success. Thus in 2006 The vineyard for the Gaintus Radical was planted on 530M height. In this vineyard, the vines on individual piles are brought up, an upbringing that is also widespread in Germany on the Moselle and on the Middle Rhine. The grapes are harvested by hand and chilled before maceration. They are unlapped and ground, the must is macerated on the mash and fermented with natural yeasts. It is slowly pressed and 4 months in used 300 liter barrels matured from French oak on the fine yeast.
