velvety dry red wine from the Mas Rodó winery from the Penedès region in Catalonia, approx. 65 km west of Barcelona.
The Merlot shows a lively cherry aroma against a background of red fruits, liquorice and forest floor. The balanced acid and the well -integrated tannins have a velvety, fully bodied, structured and complex on the palate.
The Merlot fits perfectly with red and light meat, especially lamb and ibérico ham, ripe hard cheese, spicy dishes and with hearty vegetable dishes.
The Merlot of Mas Rodó exceeds all expectations that men could have in this grape variety. It grows on sandy limestone floor; The harvest is harvested in October, the harvest resulted in around 5,000 kg/ ha in 2011. The wine is fermented in the stainless steel tank and then expanded in the French barrique for 9 months.
