Malondro Blanc
year 2015
full -bodied Spanish white wine from the Celler Malondro from the Montsant in Catalonia, approx. 150 km west of Barcelona.
In the glass, the Malondro Blanc 2015 is a clean, brilliant white wine, lemon yellow in the color with a touch of gold. Aromas of fresh yellow fruits appear in the nose, stone fruit and pineapple. In the background there are scents of garden flowers, paired with the typical balsamic notes of the Mediterranean. It is refreshing and structured on the palate, with hints of fruit and a light taste of salt. The finish is pleasantly long.
Enjoy Malondro Blanc into smoked fish, too light meat or poultry and into a spicy, ripe hard cheese like Manchego or Emmentaler.
The Malondro Blanc is made from two in the Montsant autochthonian grape varieties: the garnatxa roja (sp. Garnacha roja ) and the Macabeu (sp. macabeo, viura ). The garnatxa comes from a vineyard at almost 800m height, surrounded by pine forests. The Macabeu grows in a vineyard in the coolest part of Cordunella. The grapes for the white wine were read by hand in the first week of October 2015. They were unlapped in the basement and ground slightly; Finally subjected to cold maceration for several hours.
The mash was invited to a vertical press, the lead must be separated and chilled for 48 hours. Then the fermentation was initiated, which lasted 20 days. 30% of the must was fermented in new wooden barrels made of 800 liters of volume, the rest in stainless steel. All parts rested on the yeast for a total of 6 months before they were quenched (cut) and filled. Then the bottles rest again for 6 months before they go on sale
